Upgrade your laptop or desktop's thermal management with this PTM7950 Phase Change Thermal Pad — a high-performance silicone-based thermal interface material (TIM) engineered for modern CPUs, GPUs, and graphics cards. With an impressive thermal conductivity of 8.5 W/m·K and an ultra-low thermal impedance of just 0.04 ℃·cm²/W, this pad dramatically improves heat transfer between your chip and heatsink, keeping your system running cool and stable under heavy loads.

Made in Mainland China.

Why Choose This Thermal Pad?

  • Ultra-High Conductivity: 8.5 W/m·K thermal conductivity with ultra-low interface resistance ensures maximum heat transfer efficiency for high-performance CPUs and GPUs.
  • Phase Change Technology: Based on an advanced polymer phase change material (PCM) system, the pad transitions within 45 ℃ to achieve exceptional interfacial wettability — dramatically reducing surface contact resistance compared to standard thermal pastes.
  • Proven Reliability: Validated through 1,000-hour baking at 150 ℃ and 1,000 thermal cycling (T/C-B) test cycles while maintaining consistently low thermal impedance — ideal for demanding, long-term use in high-performance integrated circuit applications.
  • Lightweight & Compact: At just 0.25 mm thick and weighing approximately 10 g, this pad is easy to handle, cut to size, and apply without adding bulk to your build.
  • Multiple Size Options: Available in 31×40 mm, 40×40 mm, 40×80 mm, 80×80 mm, and 80×160 mm to suit a wide range of chip footprints and heatsink bases.
  • Versatile Compatibility: Designed for CPUs, GPUs, graphics cards, power supplies, computer hosts, laptops, and virtually any heat dissipation module requiring a reliable thermal interface.

How to Apply — Step-by-Step

  1. Clean surfaces: Thoroughly clean the chip surface and heatsink contact surface. Use an alcohol wipe for best results.
  2. Cut to size: If applying to the chip surface, cut the pad to match or be slightly smaller than the chip with clean, solid edges (no overhangs). If applying to the heatsink base, cut it slightly larger than the chip for easy alignment — ensure it only contacts flat surfaces.
  3. Peel first film: Tear off one side of the release film and carefully press it onto the heatsink base or chip surface. If the room is warm, refrigerate the pad for 10 minutes first to make film removal easier.
  4. Apply even pressure: Use your thumb to apply even pressure across the entire pad surface to ensure full adhesion before removing the second film.
  5. Peel second film: Remove the remaining release film using the included easy-tear sticker aids, starting from a corner.
  6. Install heatsink: Fasten the heatsink immediately and power on your system — no curing time needed.

Important Notes

  • This is a phase change material. During air shipping, cabin temperature and climate variations may cause minor edge deformation — this does not affect performance or usability.
  • Do not repeatedly flex or knead the pad before application.
  • Slight color variation may occur due to monitor settings and lighting conditions.
  • Please allow ±1–2 mm measurement tolerance due to manual cutting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the difference between a PTM7950 thermal pad and regular thermal paste?

A: Unlike traditional thermal paste, the PTM7950 is a phase change material (PCM) that transitions from a solid to a semi-liquid state at temperatures within 45 ℃. This allows it to conform more precisely to micro-imperfections on chip and heatsink surfaces, achieving extremely low surface contact resistance and superior heat transfer — all without the mess of liquid paste and with easier, cleaner installation.

Q: What sizes are available, and how do I choose the right one?

A: The PTM7950 thermal pad is available in five sizes: 31×40 mm, 40×40 mm, 40×80 mm, 80×80 mm, and 80×160 mm. Choose a size that matches or slightly exceeds your CPU or GPU die area. You can also trim the pad with scissors for a precise fit. For heatsink base application, a size one step larger than the chip is recommended for easier alignment.

Q: Is this thermal pad compatible with gaming laptops and desktop GPUs?

A: Yes. The PTM7950 phase change thermal pad is compatible with a wide range of applications including gaming laptops, desktop CPUs and GPUs, graphics cards, power supply modules, and any electronic component requiring efficient thermal interface management. Its ultra-thin 0.25 mm profile makes it especially well-suited for slim laptop designs.

Q: How should I store the PTM7950 thermal pad when not in use?

A: It is recommended to store the pad under refrigerated conditions when not in use. Cold storage helps maintain the pad's material integrity and makes the release film easier to remove during future applications. Keep it in its original packaging to prevent contamination.
