Hydrographic Activator B 100ml – Water Transfer Printing
Hydrographic Activator B – 100ml for Water Transfer Printing
Unlock professional-grade hydrographic decoration with this Activator B (100ml) — an essential liquid coating designed to liquify pre-printed PVA hydrographic film so vibrant patterns wrap seamlessly onto virtually any 3D surface. Whether you're customizing car dashboards, bike helmets, cups, firearms, or plastic panels, Activator B ensures the ink pattern floats freely on water and bonds flawlessly to your substrate.
What Is Activator B?
Water transfer printing uses two activators. Activator B liquefies the print on the film, suspending the ink pattern on the water's surface ready for dipping. It is compatible with all pre-printed (offset-printed) hydrographic films — including carbon fiber, camouflage, skull, marble, stone, wood grain, animal skin, and more. If you are printing your own blank PVA film via an inkjet printer, you will also need Activator A (sold separately) before applying Activator B.
- Volume: 100 ml per bottle
- Color: Transparent & clear liquid
- Application Method: Spray
- Compatible Films: Pre-printed (offset) PVA hydrographic films
- No high-concern chemicals
Compatible Surface Patterns
Carbon Fiber · Skull · Camouflage · Wooden Grain · Marble & Stone · Animal Skin · Cartoon · Royalty Pattern · Metal
Compatible Substrates
Works on plastic, fiberglass, wood, ceramics, and metal. If an item can be safely dipped in water, the hydrographic process can typically be used on it.

How Water Transfer Printing Works
Water Transfer Printing (also known as hydrographics or hydro-dipping) is a finishing technique that applies decorative patterns to complex 3D curves. The general process involves: jigging the object → base coat → applying Activator A (for blank films only) → floating film on water → spraying Activator B → dipping the object → rinsing → applying a clear top coat. The result is a durable, fully wrapped custom finish.
Activator A vs. Activator B — Quick Reference
| Activator | Film Type | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| A | Blank (inkjet-printable) PVA film | Cures/fixes pigment ink onto the blank film before dipping |
| B | All pre-printed & blank films | Liquefies the film so the ink pattern floats freely for transfer |
Note: Blank inkjet films require BOTH Activator A and Activator B. Pre-printed offset films require Activator B only.
Why Choose This Activator?

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I use Activator B alone on pre-printed hydrographic films?
A: Yes. Pre-printed (offset-printed) hydrographic films such as carbon fiber, camouflage, or skull patterns only require Activator B. Simply spray Activator B evenly over the floating film surface and dip your object. Activator A is only needed when using blank inkjet-printable PVA film.
Q: How much Activator B do I need per transfer?
A: A light, even spray coat is typically sufficient. For standard-size pieces, a single 100ml bottle can cover multiple transfers depending on the size of the film and the substrate. Consistent spray distance and coverage are key to a clean, bubble-free result.
Q: What substrates can I use with this hydrographic activator?
A: Activator B works with any substrate that can be safely submerged in water, including plastic, fiberglass, wood, ceramics, and metal. The object should be base-coated beforehand for best adhesion, and a clear top coat applied after dipping to protect the finished design.
